Credentials:

Linda Marchman, owner of Social
Butterflies, has raised butterflies for
nine years. She is a director of the
Association for Butterflies, a member of
the  International Butterfly Breeders
Association, the Butterfly Society of
Virginia and is a Certified Master
Gardener. She has a M.Ed. in Educational
Administration and Supervision and has
taught students of all ages about the
wonder of butterflies.

She has given presentations to many
diverse groups, including service clubs,
AARP groups, home-schooled students,
retirement communities, libraries,
garden clubs and many others.  She

recently was
a speaker at
the  Maymont Home &
Garden Show in  
Richmond, VA.

Most programs include a colorful PowerPoint presentation.  For younger students, hands-on activities
are included.  Topics for all groups include
lifecycle information, little-known butterfly facts, identifying
species, and live and preserved specimens for viewing.
 A live butterfly release may be
included for an extra charge.  Let us know what you want!

If travel is required outside the Charlottesville, VA area, 49 cents/mile will be assessed for round trip.
Please call for details.  Prices for presentations begin at $95.00. Program usually is one hour.  
Discounts available for booking two presentations that are scheduled in the same day.

Fall Monarch tagging:  During the month of September, we will bring live monarchs to be individually
tagged and released to fly to their overwintering sites in Mexico. Includes a butterfly program with
PowerPoint show, migration info and environmental issues discussion.
